Mohamed Houmrach, natif du village de Ouaoula en 1963, province d\u2019Azilal (Haut-Atlas) et qui est actuellement enseignant de fran\u00e7ais \u00e0 Azilal. Ce roman s\u2019inscrit dans le cadre de \u00ab la litt\u00e9rature amazighe d\u2019expression fran\u00e7aise \u00bb et dans lign\u00e9e d\u2019autres \u00e9crivains amazighes : Feraoun, Souag, Brik Oussaid, Mammeri\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Le narrateur y revient, dans un des villages amazighes \u2013 Ouaoula- qui ont fourni des dizaines de soldats (chair \u00e0 canon) \u00e0 la France coloniale dans sa lutte contre le nazisme, sur les \u00e9v\u00e9nements des ann\u00e9es soixante, soixante-dix et quatre-vingts qui ont marqu\u00e9 son enfance, son adolescence et sa jeunesse : scolarit\u00e9, relations sociales, mode de vie dans une bourgade enclav\u00e9e qui a subi les affres de la d\u00e9colonisation, \u00e9lections\u2026Un chapelet de souvenir qui nous rappelle les \u00abJours de Kabylie\u00bb de Mouloud Faraoun et dans une moindre mesure \u00ables coquelicots de l\u2019Oriental\u00bb de Brik Oussaid.<\/p>\n<p>Le roman d\u00e9crit la vie monotone de tous les jours dont le jour du souk hebdomadaire constitue l\u2019apog\u00e9e, les m\u00e9tamorphoses et les mutations sociales induites par l\u2019installation d\u2019une administration \u00abnationale\u00bb corrompue, la prolif\u00e9ration de la d\u00e9bauche inh\u00e9rente \u00e0 la mis\u00e8re et aux nombre de veuves de soldats d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9s lors des batailles pour la consolidation de la souverainet\u00e9 marocaine sur son Sahara.<\/p>\n<p>Le style est sans concession, cru et corrosif, transfigur\u00e9 par des images iconoclastes et burlesques. Un roman donc qui prend les allures d\u2019une \u00abautobiographie collective\u00bb, celle d\u2019une population amazighe d\u00e9munie qui lutte contre la pr\u00e9carit\u00e9 et o\u00f9 chacun lutte individuellement pour se faire une petite place dans le Maroc ind\u00e9pendant.<\/p>\n<p>Le h\u00e9ros, Idir, s\u2019accroche et arrive \u00e0 s\u2019\u00e9vader de sa r\u00e9alit\u00e9 \u00ablamentable\u00bb par la lecture d\u2019ouvrages que lui procurent ses amis fran\u00e7ais catholiques et son idylle vaporeuse avec une jeune juive subjugu\u00e9e par la beaut\u00e9 du village calme et paisible.
